The PHS range delivers up to 700 bar (10,000 psi) of hydraulic pressure into single-acting hydraulic systems through a single outlet port. It was originally designed to drive RenQuip flange spreaders and prevent the accidental ingress of air into the hydraulic system when traditional pumps are operated off-level, which would otherwise require fully bleeding the system before resuming work.
When working in limited access areas it can be challenging to keep the pump level. The sealed flexible reservoir solves this. The range covers three reservoir sizes (PH300S, PH580S and PH1100S) so the pump can be matched to the oil volume of the system it drives.
The PH pumps are equipped with a flexible oil reservoir that contracts when oil is pumped from the reservoir into the system. This removes the requirement for an air vent that you find on traditional solid reservoir pumps and eliminates the possibility of accidental oil spillage when the pump is not level.
The flexible reservoir also enables the pump to be used in any orientation without the risk of air entering the hydraulic system. It prevents contamination or debris from the surrounding atmosphere entering the hydraulic system, protecting both the pump and the system it is pressurising.
The PH range incorporates a two stage piston design. A larger volume of oil is pumped per handle stroke at lower pressure (below 200 psi) for fast system actuation. Above 200 psi a smaller volume is pumped per stroke to reach safe working pressure while keeping the required handle force low.
An internal relief valve is factory set to the maximum safe working pressure. When the system reaches that pressure the relief valve opens and further cycling delivers oil back to the reservoir rather than into the system, protecting the equipment from over pressurisation.
