How accurate are click torque wrenches?

Click-style torque wrenches are pretty darn accurate, typically offering a tolerance of ±3% clockwise and ±5% counterclockwise. That means you can trust your click wrench to get you within spitting distance of your desired torque.

Can I use a regular wrench instead of a torque wrench?

Sure, you could use a regular wrench, but it’s like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Regular wrenches just don’t have the precision you need for critical bolting applications. Trust us – when it comes to accuracy and consistency, a torque wrench is the way to go.

Should you push or pull a torque wrench?

Always apply force in the direction the handle is facing. Most torque wrenches are designed to be pushed, not pulled, for accurate readings. So, unless you want your measurements to be wonkier than a three-legged table, stick to pushing your wrench.
